Fiona has over 15 years of professional experience in carrying out Landscape Character Assessments. She has worked throughout the UK, at a range of scales from local to regional. She has a thorough understanding of best-practice methodologies, and an exceptional ability to ‘read’ and analyse the landscape, describing the physical, cultural and perceptual attributes which make landscapes distinctive and create their special character.
Fiona’s landscape assessment work extends to the practical application of Landscape Character Assessment, such as identifying forces for change in the landscape, and making recommendations to address these through land management, planning policies, and tools such as National Park/AONB Management Plans, Landscape enhancement plans and community landscape action planning. Clients include Local Planning Authorities, National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Landscape Partnerships.
