Environmental planning projects (for example Green Infrastructure (GI) plans, landscape sensitivity / capacity studies, and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)) have been an important component of Fiona’s work over the past 15 years, and continue to be so. In many cases they are a natural progression from Landscape Character Analysis. Fiona has a good working knowledge of the current best practice methodology of LVIA (Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment 3rd Ed.) and has attended masterclasses on its application. As well as applying existing methodologies, Fiona has also developed innovative approaches for new environmental planning challenges, as illustrated in the examples below.
